About the Eastern Warbling Vireo

One of the plainest songbirds in North America - pale gray-olive with a whitish eyebrow and no wingbars - but blessed with a long, rollicking, run-on warble that seems to tumble uphill to a high final note. Warbling Vireos stick to the crowns of tall cottonwoods and pecans along water, where they are far more often heard than seen. Eastern and Western Warbling-Vireos differ in voice, bill size and molt timing and are widely expected to be formally split, with the eastern form the one moving through most of Texas.
