About the House Finch
The cheerful finch of Texas backyards, the male washed with red across the head and chest - though diet can tint him orange or even yellow instead. Sociable and chatty, House Finches crowd feeders in loose flocks and sing a bright, tumbling warble from rooftops and wires.
